- LIUX and OK Mobility sign a purchase agreement for 5,000 units of the new model.
LIUX, the innovative Spanish sustainable mobility startup in which OK Group has been the main investor since last July through its venture capital division, OK Ventures, presented last Thursday the final prototype of its light urban car, the LIUX GEKO.
The prototype’s presentation is part of the partnership announced. Under the partnership, OK Mobility, part of the OK Group holding company, will purchase 5,000 units of the LIUX GEKO over the next three years. This partnership reinforces OK Mobility’s commitment to LIUX, especially after OK Group, through its subsidiary OK Ventures, became the startup’s lead investor last July.
The LIUX GEKO stands out for its compact design and use of natural and recyclable materials, such as flax fibre and recyclable resins. Its base range is 170 km, which can be extended to 230 km, and its energy efficiency exceeds 13 km/kWh, making it an ideal solution for 21st-century urban mobility.
As part of the presentation event, the final prototype of the vehicle was unveiled to the attendees, who had the opportunity to drive it and learn first-hand about its innovative technology. Antoni Costa, Vice-President and Regional Minister of Economy, Treasury and Innovation of the Government of the Balearic Islands, also attended the event.
Antonio Espinosa, CEO of LIUX, said: “This partnership enables us to secure a strong boost for the production of the LIUX GEKO, which will start in the second half of 2025 in Spain. The LIUX GEKO is a commitment to a new understanding of urban mobility. Its innovative design, energy efficiency and use of sustainable materials make it a unique product on the market. With the GEKO, we are demonstrating that it is possible to combine cutting-edge technology with spectacular, environmentally friendly design.”
Othman Ktiri, Founder and Chairman of OK Group, said: “This agreement goes beyond the mere provision of vehicles. It is about generating synergies that will enable us to face the new technological and sustainable mobility challenges successfully. In this sense, we could not have chosen a better partner than LIUX, a made-in-Spain startup that represents everything we are passionate about: entrepreneurship, mobility and sustainability“. “With the LIUX GEKO, a vehicle that fits perfectly into our mobility offering – rental, subscription and leasing – we are entering the urban and tourist micro-mobility sector.”
People interested in purchasing the LIUX GEKO can sign up for the waiting list through the startup’s official website: www.liux.eco. Those wanting to enjoy this sustainable mobility option can find it on the www.okmobility.com platform.
