- The nautical charter company has acquired 56 % of this company based in Felanitx (Majorca), dedicated to the construction of electric boats with ecological materials, under the Nauta Morgau brand. It also offers boat rental via eBoats.
OK Yachts, the company dedicated to nautical chartering was founded four months ago and belongs to the OK Group. They have teamed up with the majority of eBoats Experience S.L., Majorcan shipyard located in Felanitx, following the acquisition of the shares of their minority partners and after making a capital injection of 750,000 euros to develop this project, which was launched by its founder, Marc Balaguer.
The shareholding of this company is made up of OK Yachts, as majority shareholder and investor with 56 % of the shares and Balaguer, as founding partner and entrepreneur of the project with 44 %.
eBoats Experience is dedicated to the construction and rental of ecoboats, electric boats built with ecological materials, through its two brands eBoats and Nauta Morgau. Nauta Morgau is characterised by combining handcrafted construction with the latest technology in electric motorization, creating wooden boats, with a sophisticated design and sustainable production. eBoats in turn offers these boats to customers for rent in Majorca – a green way to enjoy the sea sustainably.
OK Yachts is the OK Group‘s nautical division. The Group includes the global mobility company, OK Mobility. Following this acquisition, Othman Ktiri, Owner of the business group OK Group, takes over as Chairman of eBoats Experience.
The new president has expressed his satisfaction and great commitment to this project. “I am very excited to support and become part of this transformative project in the nautical sector, not only because of its entrepreneurial nature but also for its commitment to the environment. We share with Marc, a founding partner, the same philosophy and the same purpose, to steer the navigation of the future towards responsible mobility, based on clean energy, environmental sustainability and ecology.”
“As a businessman, but also as an entrepreneur,” Ktiri adds, “I intend to continue to support talented young professionals who work to promote innovative, value-generating and differentiating projects. And we do this with Move On, the OK Group’s Venture Capital, offering advice and financing to entrepreneurs who wish to take their business projects further.”
Marc Balaguer, founding partner of eBoats Experience, celebrates the entry of OK Yachts as the majority shareholder of the company and says that “it is a boost to the project to consolidate ourselves as the main shipyard in the Balearic Islands in terms of quantity, quality and sustainability. It allows us to increase production and continue developing new models that offer 100 % sustainable alternatives in different areas of the nautical sector, not only in terms of propulsion, but also in the materials we use. We are very happy to have the opportunity to continue moving forwards and innovating with an industrial partner who is as qualitative as Othman Ktiri.”
Part of this capital will also be used for R&D and the industrialisation of the artisanal production of boats in the new Majorcan shipyard, which until today had the production capacity of 6 ships per year, and which will later be expanded.
The rest of the capital will be used to promote the decarbonisation of the nautical sector and to develop and produce the prototypes of three new Nauta Morgau boat models that will be launched in Spring 2023.
With its entry as a new investment partner, OK Yachts has expanded its nautical mobility services, incorporating these ecoboats into its current fleet of yachts available for rent. A complimentary offer that is sustainable, economic and accessible to all users since it does not require any type of license.
