- The agreement between the two group also includes the use of some OK Hotels tourism properties
The business holding OK Group and hotel chain Smy Hotels have joined forces to create the company OKLogi Hotels, to jointly manage this hotel chain on an international scale.
This is a strategic project which will allow the OK Group to penetrate the hotel industry, and in turn, will help Smy Hotels to boost their growth and strategy as multi-brand managers. All this is possible thanks to both groups’ extensive know how. As a result of this agreement, the new company will also use some of the OK Hotels’ tourist properties.
Smy Hotels currently manages 10 hotels in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece. These are countries where OK Mobility, the OK Group business holding’s mobility section, currently operates. They are also present in other European countries, including France, Germany and Malta.
Othman Ktiri, President and Founder of the OK Group has expressed his satisfaction with the agreement reached and pointed out that “although this is due to the OK Group holding making a diversification investment, there are many existing synergies between the hotel and mobility activities”. Ktiri wanted to stress that “mobility will continue to be my absolute priority, but over the 20 years that I have spent living in Majorca and with over 10 years of professional experience of holiday vehicle renting, I have naturally been tempted to enter the hotel industry, with much humility and respect. To do so alongside a professional like Ovidio Andrés, who has such a brilliant and technological mind, is a very enriching experience for me”.
Meanwhile the President of Smy Hotels, Ovidio Andrés stated that “Smy Hotels is a conciliatory project, which aims to pool our strengths to achieve our group’s mission – to showcase the partners who trust us and put their hotels at our disposal, to sell, rent or manage. First it was Wyndham and now the OK Group holding, a dynamic group with great financial capacity and above all, a desire to grow and be innovative. Talking to Othman, as well as being a personal pleasure, is a professional luxury. He is a great entrepreneur who always seeks to grow, and offer his clients a differential value. We share a similar business development strategy, which has led us to create this new company.”
The agreement reached between the two groups will speed up growth and expand the chain via the current brand Smy Hotels, OK Hotels or third parties. In this regard, both presidents wish to point out that this growth will “always be sustainable and profitable in a key moment for the tourism industry”.
